Tiny Living Tales

The Journey of Building Tiny Houses with Tiny Terra Homes

The idea of starting a tiny house construction department was born from a long-standing interest in tiny living and a passion for challenges. Having been in the construction industry for five years, I decided to take on the challenge of building tiny houses. My journey in marketing spans 21 years, with a deep-rooted passion for design. Following trends in the tiny house market and recognizing the current housing crisis, I knew it was the right time to dive into this venture.

Three years ago, I created Scapesart LLC, initially focusing on building various backyard projects for customers. Recently, a new company, Tiny Terra Homes, was established specifically for the tiny house sector. Scapesart LLC will be constructing tiny houses on behalf of Tiny Terra Homes. A first Tiny House On Wheels design was aimed at identifying the cost for each step of the process. So far, labor has proven to be the most expensive part of building a tiny house.

One of the main challenges we see in the tiny houses industry is placing them in a backyard due to city regulations. Based on my experience, sheds under 200 square feet do not require a building permit in most of the cases. However, tiny houses on wheels do not qualify because they need to be on the ground, without wheels. This led us to design a detachable set of tires, allowing the tiny house to be anchored to a foundation once placed on the ground.

Our journey has been long, but we now have production ready to start in Mexico, near the border with El Paso, Texas. This strategic location helps us solve the high costs of labor, enabling us to offer affordable prices in the US. We have also established delivery from El Paso to any location in the country at accessible rates. The first model has been built in Kansas for display purposes, while any other tiny house will be customized for the client and delivered from El Paso Texas to any place in the country.

We are currently developing a plan for early adopters, offering them better deals as a token of appreciation for their support in the early stages of this journey. We will continue to update this blog with new information as it becomes available.

Thank you for joining us on this exciting journey into the world of tiny living with Tiny Terra Homes. Stay tuned for more updates and insights into our progress and the tiny house market.
